The development requires dogs to be on leash.  When we are hanging out on the back patio, we keep the sliding glass doors open and use a 50 ft leash which lets Duffy run in and out of the house.  The unit is in a spacious area in the back of a gated community.  Rental rates vary by the season and special events in the area which drive tourism.

If you are looking for a relaxing place to vacation with your dog or cat, look no further! You can enjoy the putting green, tennis courts, pickleball courts, 8 swimming pools and a barbeque area with natural gas grills.

Your Dog and Palm Springs

Dogs and humans have been living side-by-side for over 15,000 years, so you would think we would know everything there was to know.  This article from LiveScience, 10 Things You Didn’t Know about Dogs  contained some interesting factoids.

duffyDogs are as smart as toddlers, according to research presented in 2009 at a meeting of the American Psychological Association. Border collies are the top dogs in the intelligence category, with some in the breed capable of understanding up to 200 words. Poodles (and poodle mixes like Duffy) are among the smartest.

Dogs also have emotions and feel envy. A 2008 study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found that when dogs saw other dogs getting treats for a trick they’d been performing unrewarded, the unrewarded dogs became agitated, scratching themselves and avoiding the gaze of the rewarded dogs. They also stopped doing the trick much faster than if they were alone and not getting a reward.  The finding demonstrate the envy isn’t just a primate emotion.

The whole article is worth reading.  Evidence that obedient dog live longer than aggressive and unruly dogs … and the role of dogs in improving your social life.  We believe that dog help us heal, so we have designed out Palm Springs condo to be a great place to vacation with your dog and/or cat.
