There are lots of great hikes in the Coachella Valley, the Jacinto and San Bernadino Mountains. Some of the most famous hikes, on Preserves or Indian land, do not allow dogs.
At the bottom of this page, we have listed additional pages with information of interest to visitors in the Palm Springs or Coachella Valley area. One of these pages is for interesting activities to which you cannot bring a dog, and another page has a list of dog-sitters and dog-walkers. The non-dog hikes are on the page with non-dog activities.
It is the desert, so please keep in mind the importance of not getting sunstroke and not having having your dog, who is wearing a fur coat, overheat. Always bring water for you and your dog.
