Cactus to Clouds (AKA Skyline Trail) is only accessible from March to October.  It is great for an extended hike, but has few travelers.  So, be cautious about the heat and bring extra water for you an your dog.  The full trail is 18.7 miles and is only recommended for very experienced adventurers.
